Beach Safety Flag The City of Orange Beach uses a system of color coded flags to indicate swimming and/or surf conditions. This system is used by neighboring jurisdictions (Gulf Shores, AL; Pensacola Beach, FL; etc.) as well. Please pay attention to the flags, and remember: Swim At You Own Risk!
Break The Grip of The Rip!® Rip currents are powerful, channeled currents of water flowing away from shore. They typically extend from the shoreline, through the surf zone, and past the line of breaking waves. Rip currents can occur at any beach with breaking waves.
