The Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for Fire Inspections (including new and existing occupancies), Plans Review (fire alarms, automatic suppression systems and fire department standpipes), Special Events Permitting (fireworks, etc.), Occupancy Load Assessments, Enforcement of Fire Lane Ordinance, and Fire Investigation (Origin & Cause Determination). Fire Safety Tips from the Fire Prevention Bureau The Fire Prevention Bureau would like offer you several fire safety tips. We recommend you read the following and look around your residence to see if any of these items or situations apply. We recommend that you print out the “Home Fire Safety Checklist” and use it. Check the item off once you have inspected it and corrected it as needed. The Fire Prevention Bureau would also like to extend a helping hand and offer a home inspection.
