A/O Firemedic Asher Michon awarded Firefighter of the Year

The Orange Beach Firefighter of the Year award was presented to Asher Michon on Monday, October 3rd at the Fire and Police appreciation dinner, held at the Orange Beach Community Center where members of the community gathered together to honor those women and men who work hard every day to protect lives and property.

Asher has worked very hard over the last year coordinating Orange Beach Local 4309's efforts for the Lower Alabama Chapter of "Pink Heals", the local branch of a national effort to provide support for the those in our own community whose lives have been ravaged by breast cancer.

OBFR would also like to congratulate Officer Rich Nolte who was awarded Orange Beach Police Department's Officer of the Year. We are proud of all you gentlemen do in service to our community.

OBFR Welcomes Shane Phillips

Chief Shane Phillips has joined Orange Beach Fire Rescue to fill the vacancy left when Chief Forney Howard retired on August the 1st. Chief Phillips is most recently from Seneca, South Carolina where he served as fire chief for six years.
